so yes, we did a roving event at Orchard on the 1st of oct..

My poor dog broke her leg =(

They put her in a splint for a day,

and then inserted a metal plate into her leg the next..=(

so now, the poor girl's feeling very sulky

but at least she's eating now..

Spent the rainy Tuesday making Rose Lychee macarons!

Turned out pretty well for the first time!

If you're wondering, yes, the macaron shells and the ganache inside all made from scratch!

hmm..I wonder if beer will work well..hmmm..

Fatigue.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm taking on too many things that I can actually handle. =(
Been feeling really tired recently and my quality (& quantity) of sleep is just..let's just say non-existent.
I blame it on insufficient rest which stemmed from the mugging period.

And yes, school has started (again) for me. First two days, and I feel like I have to start preparing for my exams already -_-" maybe I'm just putting too much pressure on myself to do well.

Anyway, was working under Dell for their media launch of the Dell Streak yesterday! Got to use a Dell Streak! If any of you are considering getting one, I say..Go get one! (no, i'm not paid to advertise for them) There'll be a launch for the Starhub partners next tues! (will take more photos of the Streak then..the current one I have is just...unflattering)

Met a Sony/Playworks rep whom i worked for as a Sony PS3 Ambassador at the media launch, hopefully the details of the PS3 job gets confirmed fast! Launch of GT5! CAN'T WAIT!!

Alritey..time for me to carbo load for the half marathon this sunday!

ANYWAY, was working for Dell @ SITEX over the last 4 days..How did it go?
Boots + 5 hours + laptop = TIRING.

But I must admit, it was largely quite fun..lol..can't wait to see the others on the 1st for another Dell event! =)

School's starting on the 30th..my one week term break just feels too short.. =(
Honestly still feel quite drained from all the mugging and exam stress..*sigh*

Again, I'm in the midst of the exams ..yea,I know how it always seems like I'm always studying and having exams somehow..well, I guess that's uni life..*Sigh* Can't wait till the term break! (however short it is)

It somehow appears that every single time I've decided to go running, it not just rains, it POURS..someone make the rain stop already!

But..in any case, bear with me for a little while more..I'll update an entry proper (yes, about the Sony PS Move event I did as well) when I'm finally done and over with my final paper on the 22nd! *sighs*..okay, I really should start updating this blog a little more often. Officially, mugging has started for me. Yes, I know, exam's are still a little way off and I have time..well, better start early I guess. My study table's beginning to disappear again, as usual, from the accumulation of books and notes. Honestly should start clearing it. (no, I'm not going to put a picture of how it looks cause it'll probably scare the wits out of anyone..hurhur)

Been contemplating if I should run a full marathon at the end of the year. Or half? Always wanted to do a full marathon, but somehow always ended up doing the 10k..hmm..*ponders*

My body clock is utterly messed up. I sleep early in the morning, and wake not even feeling tired a couple of hours later. Any suggestions on how to set it right again? Going for a couple of castings over the week. Hope I get them! =)

Oh well, time to hit the books again..update soon =)

Best Night So Far...

Definitely one of the BEST NIGHTS I've had in a long while!! Attended the performance by Andrea Bocelli (along with Australian pop singer Delta Goodrem, Solvenian soprano Sabina Cbilak and acclaime flutist Andrea Griminello) at the Singapore Botanic Gardens as part of YTL's anniversary celebrations!! I never would have thought I'd have the opportunity to hear him perform, so this...definitely is a dream come true!

Unfortunately, I forgot my camera! So I had to rely on the one in my phone! Uploaded the ones that turned out better =)

Honestly, BEST PERFORMANCE I've been to since 2010 started..Not only because it was Andrea Bocelli (trust me, just like how Celine Dion once said "If God had a singing voice, He would sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli" now I see the truth in that phrase..it's totally different hearing him 'live') , but the organisation and crew was just awesome, right down to the goodie bag and food! There wasn't even a problem getting onto the shuttle buses, no long queues and worries about getting lost at the venue! YTL did a really great job!!

I'm sure some of you might have seen these short films/videos on youtube or some other online portal. And today, I decided to watch some of them online again and am going to run a series of them on my blog, so you guys (if there's anyone reading this blog..) can view them too!

These short films/videos are part of the Responsibility Project. For those who prefer watching animated ones, don't fret, they do have short animated films too! One thing i really love about them is that they leave the endings open, which really gets you thinking about what YOU would have done.

Here's a little short background on the Responsibility Project..

How It Began

In 2006, Liberty Mutual created a TV commercial about people doing things for strangers. The response was overwhelming. We received thousands of positive emails and letters from people all over the country commenting on the ads.

We thought, if one TV spot can get people thinking and talking about responsibility, imagine what could happen if we went a step further? So we created a series of short films, and this website, as an exploration of what it means to do the right thing.

I would tell you how much I miss my family. I would tell you how much I miss the warmth of my home. I would tell you how much I miss being loved. Woots! Can't wait!! Got a pair of tickets to a concert featuring one of Brazil's top orchestras, the Bachiana Brasileira Orchestra! This concert will be celebrating different periods and styles of Brazilian concert music in the last 100 years. Presented by the Embassy of Brazil in Singapore, the concert is being held to commemorate 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Brazilian Embassy in Singapore.

First things first! The third episode of The BIG Bibik & The Little Nyonyas is up! =D

In traditional boot camp fashion, the girls are learning cooking from the bottom up, beginning with cleaning the kitchen.

Then Bibik announces that they are going to the market. The girls however, see it as a shopping opportunity. Bibik educates them on the basic ingredients of Peranakan cooking. Vanessa is taught how to choose blue ginger. Will she understand Bibik's explanation?

To be honest, I think right here, right now (actually, more than just that), I'm quite a lucky girl. Well, here's the thing, a dear friend gave me three-day passes to F1 this weekend, another got me an adidas bag and I just heard news from a very close friend (haven't heard from her since some time ago)! Thank you guys for remembering me and the things I love!

Honestly, it is more than just this, I have come to realise that I have many people around me who have been caring for me through the few months that things have been difficult. And I'm really thankful for each and every one of you guys!

It doesn't matter if it's via msn, smses,phone calls or meeting up, I really appreciate all of you, and the things done for me. I'm definitely blessed to have each and every one of you in my life =)

The Time Traveler's Wife

Headed out on Monday to watch The Time Traveller's Wife [starring Eric Bana & Rachel McAdams], courtesy of M1! Based on a bestselling novel, published in 2003, of the same title by Audrey Niffenegger, it is essentially a love story about a man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably, and about his wife who has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences.

This debut novel was written as a metaphor for the author's failed relationships and is classified as both science fiction and romance while examining issues of love, loss, and free will. In particular, it uses time travel to explore miscommunication and distance in relationships. It also investigates deeper existential questions.

I'm not going to give away too much, but I absolutely loved and love the movie! It really made me reflect upon the things in my life and ask myself a question I should have done a long time ago. However, if you've read the novel, you'll notice some differences between the novel and the movie. But I definitely recommend this movie to those who enjoy a good love story and those who enjoy movies that sets you thinking.

It's out in the theatres, so do catch it over the weekend!

My Love Affair

Yes, I have to admit, I think i'm having a secret love affair..

but..don't worry, it's not with someone, it's with a place I have a little connection with.. =)

So it's..3 days to Merdeka..and it's a long weekend for all in M'sia! First things first, Selamat Hari Merdeka to all, [especially to my readers from M'sia!] I hope it'll be a long great weekend for you guys!

I guess many of you must be wondering why I'm typing this entry [since I don't celebrate Merdeka]. Surprise surprise, what many of you might not know, is that, my dad was born malaysian! Pontian, Johor..I believe. =) and my grandma is from Batu Pahat! So yes, I do have some ties with Malaysia.

But strangely enough, I never really have explored M'sia much, save for a couple of visits to JB to visit relative, Genting, once to KL, and the most recent visit to Melaka. To be honest, I was too young to remember my visits to Genting, (perhaps only the last visit made in...2004?)..as for that one & only trip to KL [think it was 2005], I remember it quite well, but it was mostly filled with shopping, eating..and more shopping! Oh yes, I love the pet stores!!!! Definitely the first time I was seeing hedgehogs and sugar gliders being sold as pets!

I suppose the most recent visit to Melaka is the one that I remember best. I absolutely loved and love the place and amount of heritage there is! [Plus, it definitely helped that the place I stayed at faced the sea!] Pity I didn't have much time to really take a closer look around Melaka. =( But I'm still thankful to have seen parts of Melaka, both the city and suburbs =). I would definitely love to head back there some time soon, and explore Melaka a little more!

Hopefully visit to more parts of M'sia as well, I was told Pulau Redang is gorgeous too! It, being a conservation site for sea turtles and containing two historic shipwrecks! (Things I absolutely love!) Plus, I love the sun, sand and beach! [Roadtrip in Oct, anyone?]

Well, I suppose you can say this is the start of my love affair with Malaysia, and perhaps my journey in knowing myself a little more =)

Hey there,

It was nice seeing you again =) [plus, I returned you the hug I owe you, now I only owe you one]. Perhaps you're wondering why I'm writing this entry. But to be honest, it's also difficult for me to explain. It's probably just in my nature really. There were just some things I wanted to say, but for some reason, I just held back, and didn't say them.

I'm really sorry to hear about what happened, and I could see that you were perhaps somewhat troubled/affected by it. And it's quite understandable, if I were in your position, I would be feeling the same way too, especially when you know the life stories. Life, indeed is unpredictable. I'll just leave this entry here as it is for now, I'll tell you the things I wanted to say in person perhaps? I know this isn't much, but written words can only do so much. For now, here's a hug, and I hope somehow, someway, it conveys more than what is written here. *hugzZ*

Though the campaign is over, World Vision is still in need of Child Sponsors. Sponsor a child today, and make a difference in their lives.

AIDS is a disease that carries alot of social stigma and usually just brushed under the rugs, making most aspects of it almost taboo to talk about. Having been with AFA, I've witnessed the emotional,physical and financial strain this disease has on not just the patient, but also their loved ones, so this video definitely takes a place in my heart.

Though this campaign is over,I definitely hope this helps garner more support/awareness for World Vision,their efforts and AIDS. =)

Just Another Day..

Thanks for all the concern and wellwishes!! Really appreciate every single one of you! =) My left eye is definitely healing up (including the incision), though at times it feels like someone punched me in the eye still..lol!! Stings a little at times when I apply eyedrops, but nothing too unbearable! =D [will post up a picture of my eye soon!] In the meantime, I'm still camping indoors cause my eyes are still quite sensitive to light..really wanna resume running and meeting up with friends soon!!

PS: If you're into Thai cuisine, keep a look out for my entry on this great place to makan!

Today was just another day really..except that.....I woke up to find that someone ate all my favourite cookies!!! =(

Oh well, guess I'll go find out where I can get those cookies! [does anyone happen to know??] made me one sad person in the morning..=( Anyway, for those of you who have mentioned I don't really upload photos of myself, here's one.. [this was taken...in july?] =)

Day 1 after Surgery

So off I go to my first review with my doctor..Well, nothing but good news (thankfully). I still have some residual power in both my eyes, (25 degrees & 50 degrees) which is actually quite normal, since it's only the first day after surgery. Doctor says my eyesight will still fluctuate, but it'll stabilise soon enough. Oh yes, and my bloodshot eyes will subside over a month or so. It's worse in my left eye due to the difficulty of fitting the suction over my eye, resulting in several blood vessels bursting =( [that's why they had to make the incision] but I really appreciate all the concern and wellwishes!!! =) Here are some pictures taken at my clinic!

Alritey, I'll keep this entry short..my eyes are feeling the strain already.. but I wanna write a little shoutout to a dear friend of mine overseas..

Don't worry too much, and please get lots of rest. I know sometimes things seem a little impossible, but just keep believing in your dreams! Look how far you've come, and you're just half a step away to your dream. Don't give up. Sometimes, it's harder to put it into practice, but I know you're definitely capable of it. I've seen the way you've made it through the difficult times of having gone overseas to study alone, going through your exams, writing all those long essays, applying for jobs, wondering if you'll make it through the licensing exam. But you know what? You've made it through all that! And I'm so happy and proud of what you've achieved. =) Perhaps right now, things seem to be so stagnant, and you might feel like you're not accomplishing anything, but hey, take this time to relax a little (since you just finished your exams not too long ago too) I know sometimes administrative things can get a little annoying (I haven't got my results back either!) but don't lose faith in yourself and your dreams. There's nothing you can't achieve so long as you believe. =) I'm always here for you (though we're 16,205 km apart), be it an email or an offline message away. Don't ever give up! *hugzZ*

Surgery!

Right..first things first, thanks to all of you who sent me smses and left me messages on my facebook to shower me with concern and encouragement! ( I really needed it!!!) You guys are the sweetest! =)

I'm supposed to be resting my eyes now, so I'll keep this entry short for the time being, i'll get back to edit it again when my eyes are better..Many of you asked what surgery I was going for, and it's actually Lasik! For many of you who don't know, yes I'm actually shortsighted! (Did i mention with relatively high astigmatism as well?)

My brother, who has been through lasik, told me it was going to be quite alrite. But I think he left out the fact that he didn't have any existing eye complications..-_- In any case, during my surgery, my surgeon made the decision of making an incision along the edge of my left eye (after administering anaesthetic, of course) to better facilitate the surgery.

And yes, once the anaesthetic wore off, all hell broke loose, trust me. I felt like someone punched me in the left eye. To top it off, my eyes were really dry, hence they were tearing throughout the whole surgery and hours after that. I think I definitely scored a new trend in Orchard Road after my surgery..I was in eye shields, taped right to my face, tearing non-stop from Paragon all the way to the bus-stop along the Thai Embassy.

Anw, I have to end my entry right now, (really sorry, I'll go into more details n put up more pictures soon k? Only one picture for today! erm, it might be disturbing to some readers)

Happened to see this off mtv. Absolutely love this song, I think the lyrics mean so much, and it's something that I really believe in. Sometimes, we get so caught up with the negative things, that we forget to see the strength in ourselves, and much as I would hate to admit it, I'm pretty much guilty of that too. (But hey,the past makes us who we are!) Someone once said to me, many atimes, we can't change the way things happen around us, but what we can change, is how we perceive the situation and how we respond to it.

I suppose we might be sad, hurt or perhaps even angry at why things happen the way they do, and I think that's perfectly normal, but at the end of the day, we'll all just have to try to take a step again, because no matter how bad things seem or just how much you want to give up cause it seems all so hopeless, as long as we still believe in our dreams, there will always be a way, all we gotta do, is hold on tight and keep believing. (one day,you'll look back and see how much you've grown!)

I personally think this song relates really well to me (and many others too!), mainly because alot of things have been happening in the recent months, and many atimes, I'd just feel like giving up altogether, but I guess I'm fortunate enough to meet an awesome bunch of people who believe in their dreams - who just never seem to give up. Yes, hopefully you guys know who you are, and I'm really inspired by you guys.

On another note, I think the video really speaks to me as well, it's something that I've always wanted to do, not just now, but also as a lifelong committment. Having been through some moments of my own, I know how it feels like to be downtrodden, all alone. Personally, if I feel awful enough already, I'm very sure that there are many others going through moments that are several times worst than mine, and I would want to be able to do all I can to make a positive difference in their lives, be it in a little or huge way (it's my childhood dream). Many people have said to me that it's going to take alot, but I think sometimes what we fail to see is that it could be as simple as providing a listening ear, a hug, saying 'Thank you', or even a friendly smile (trust me,having been in the service industry,a smile from the customer really can change the whole day!) It doesn't have to take a natural disaster or war for us to start making a difference =)

I think there is nothing better in life than to give, not just something of mere physical value, but also to be able to give others the gift of hope. To me, that's what I would want to be able to do, to make a difference,whether small or big, and hopefully inspire and to be inspired.

Right, so here I am, blogging away, complete with a congested nose and feeling absolutely lethargic.I blame it on the weather! haha!! Just processed a couple of photos from my time in Melaka..and then I realised my stupidity..I actually put up some photos even before I processed them -_-". And people have already commented on them! Me being me, don't want to lose the comments, so now i have one photo that is repeated on my album..oh well..lesson learnt - never upload photos when one is too sleepy!

Anywho, somehow I feel like this trip to Melaka has really changed me a fair bit. I've met awesome people, and learnt alot from them! Not just solely in terms of acting, but also characterwise. Let's just say I've been inspired by many of them there, and yes, I know I have what it takes to get through anything, I'll be just fine =) Dreams are reality waiting to happen, something I've always believed in, and even more so now!

OmG! I have so many things to talk about, I have no idea where I should start at all!!!!!

Firstly, I'm home!!! =D But I'm seriously missing the wonderful people I've been spending time with the past few days in Melaka! Absolutely awesome and really patient people! Missin' the whole bunch of them loads =( All the jokes, dinners, suppers and chats.

Really sorry about not completing this entry yesterday though..Took a shower, had my dinner (which I didn't finish till round about midnight -_-"), did the laundry, and the usual bit of clearing my emails and uploading some photos. Sounds pretty normal, but, thing was, I was supposed to head to bed by 2am cause I wasnt feeling too well =( . In any case, by the time I actually got off my laptop and hit the sack, it was already almost 4am -_-" . Probably explains why I'm still unwell now.=(

Okay, I know I haven't been updating much here! Terribly sorry..but in any case, I finished my paper last monday! Utterly happy, needless to say..=D met up with a friend to have breakfast and shop!! (sorry, no photos though..)

Let me see, what else have I been up to..Oh yes, been to two castings since then. Glad I got one job! I'm going to keep that under wraps for now, so keep your eyes peeled here for more updates!!!
Other than that, I guess I've been doing the usual, catching up with my sleep (which i badly needed, was only clocking in 20 hrs of sleep during the mugging period), running, and doing some reading =)

I first heard this song about a night ago, and I fell absolutely in love with it. What more to melt a heart than a soft acoustic serenade saying 'I'm Yours', or having your partner being there for you through it all, and still letting you know that you're still 'a soldier in your(their) eyes' even when you're at your weakest?

Even though you know you may not have the softest touch, say the words as such, though you may not look like much, be rough around the edges or you never feel like you're quite enough, that person's still always there - healing the scars over time, embracing your soul and loving your mind.

Somehow, I think you know growing old feels fine when your other half loves the lines on your face and still loves the look in your eyes. =)

Just as with many of you out there, I grew up listening to songs by Michael Jackson. It's just a great pity he's gone now =( . There's just so many songs I remember, and one fine day, I took out my age-old ipod mini and took a listen to the songs in it. (I haven't touched my ipod mini in at least 2 years)

As I was listening, this song came on, and I just felt I had to share this song with all of you. I absolutely love the lyrics, I think it's so easy for us to connect with the emotions in this song. I'm sure at some point or another, we fail to see the people that were always there for us, let pride get in the way, and that stops us from telling them just how much they mean to us or how much we appreciate and love them..till it's too late.

Don't ever wait till it's way too late to tell your loved ones your feelings, much less let pride and anger get in the way during an arguement with a loved one. Life is unpredictable, treasure your loved ones, and never regret not telling them how much you love them..every single day. Sometimes Life offers us no second chance, but should you ever do lose them, and a second chance awaits, take that chance and cherish them from that day on.

I came across this Greek short film, made in 2007, and it absolutely touched my heart. There are lots of definitions to what Love is, or what Love should be. Its a simple film, but to me, this film captures the essence of Love and what it means to me. It's not about flowers, chocolates or sweet-nothings, neither is it an emotion with just one facet. This is a real video from a French documentary about Africa. There are trees that grow in Africa which, once a year, produce very juicy fruits that ferment to contain alcohol. Because there is a shortage of water, as soon as the fruits are ripe, animals come there to help protect themselves from the heat.

BMW GINA Light Visionary Model: Trailer

THE SHAPE SHIFTING CAR.

BMW have released sensational pictures of their new concept car, Gina, which is made out of cloth.

As fabric roofs for convertibles fall out of favour, BMW has discovered what to do with all that left over material; cover the rest of the car in it.

The GINA Light Visionary Model is a two seat roadster with a textile cover that resists water and extremes of temperature stretched across a moveable metal framework for an almost seamless outer body.

Dressing a lightweight aluminium spaceframe chassis are just four body sections. The largest stretches from the front of the car and forms the bonnet, front wings and doors. Side panels stretch from behind the front wheels and run to the rear of the car where a fourth part forms the rear deck.

The car's real sci-fi trick however is its ability to morph; changing shape like the liquid metal robot in Terminator 2 depending on what is required of it. Metal wires pin the hi-tech fabric to the body panels and electro-hydraulics attached to them can stretch it in different directions.

At the front of the car the traditional BMW twin headlights remain hidden until required, at which point the fabric is peeled open like a pair of eyelids. Rear lights are invisible under the fabric until lit. The familiar kidney grille can be altered to increase airflow, the side panels stretching apart and at the same time creating sharp creases along the front wings.

BMW has also done away with the traditional bonnet opening, instead replacing it with a horizontal split in the fabric that runs along the mid-line of the front panel and gapes open like a surgical incision.

The doors open outwards and upwards, the fabric along the leading edge wrinkling to accommodate the movement and then smoothing out once the doors are closed to cover the front panel gap. At speed the rear deck of the car can 'grow' stretching upwards beneath the fabric to increase downforce.

The interior also morphs, the seat and instruments motoring into position once the driver is in place. Although the technology is clearly not intended for production, fabric bodies could point the way to low-cost, low-energy manufacturing techniques while the shape presages the next generation Z4 roadster. Strangely, what it lacks is a roof.

Right, for those of you on my facebook, I'm recovering from my fever and all, thanks for all your concern, I really appreciate it! All I gotta do is tide through this weekend though, cause I'll be out in the sun at Siloso!

ANYWAY, I know how I've barely blogged about anything too personal in here, but I think perhaps it's time for things to start changing just a little. =)

You know how sometimes we say the wrong things, at the wrong time (and end up hurting someone?) I think it just happened with me. Although I'm not quite sure the exact extent of the hurt my words brought, the bottomline is all that matters. Honestly, I didn't mean for what I said to hurt the person, but..well, I guess that doesn't matter.

I'm not quite sure if that person even reads this little space, but I hope soon enough though. I'm not quite sure on what to say, but I suppose what I really want to say is that I'm awfully sorry about the things I've said, cause I never meant for them to hurt. Definitely wasn't my intention at all, and that when this entry is read by the person it's meant for, pls do contact me cause I would wanna talk it over.

Yes, Swine Flu, pretty much fills the headlines of the ST every single day, number of deaths in Mexico rising, number of suspected cases rising etc..sad news really.(makes me wonder why we sometimes choose to make war,and not appreciate the peaceful times) It's beginning to cause some people to panic on our little island. News of people stocking up on medication and masks.

Survival Mode pits your team against never ending waves of infected. Sounds simple. Just trap the survivors in a small part of a map, unleash the hordes, and record the longest time. Survival Mode, which will be released next week, is actually a bit more than that.

Our goals for Survival Mode are to deliver a mode of play distinct from Campaign or Versus, have games that regularly last under ten minutes, and emphasize competition with team play through leaderboards.

Survival Mode draws on the planning and communication aspects of a successful Finale or Crescendo event, while taking it to another level. It rapidly hits a fever pitch that only a well coordinated team will be able to successfully survive. Everything from simply covering a reviving teammate, to making every shot count to minimize reloads becomes crucial in Survival Mode.

Given the importance of pacing in Survival Mode, we need to define as precisely as possible how the difficulty ramps up during the course of a round. We have numerous variables to work with: mob spawn frequency, special infected spawn frequency, number of each type of special infected, total number of special infected, tank spawn frequency, total number of tanks, and so on. We need all of these variables to work together to create a fairly smooth difficulty curve.

If the curve ramps up too sharply, we find that teams of all skill levels tend to hit a wall at the same time. There isn't enough variation in the times to separate great teams from average ones. If the curve is too flat, then average teams will have a good experience, but really good teams can grind on long enough to cross the line from having fun to just getting worn out.

It might seem that just gradually increasing spawn rates and numbers of infected will create a nice smooth curve, but it turns out to be much trickier than that. Each type of infected has its own spawn schedule, so even though the individual spawn curves may be designed to be fairly easy at a particular point in time, sometimes they overlap in just such a way that the players find themselves in a really bad situation far earlier than we intend.

For example, a tank will be much harder to fight if a mob of common infected spawns at the same time - and nearly impossible if three hunters also show up right at that moment. A similar situation can happen due to variables outside our control - a team may not dispatch a tank or mob quickly enough, causing subsequent waves to start arriving and piling on to an already difficult battle. It's also hard to anticipate when teams will need to make an ammo run or heal up, both of which can be extremely difficult only a few minutes into the round. In order to help visualize these overlap points and the collapse of each spawn curve, we graphed out the wave behavior of infected over the course of a survival round.

The last variable we added was the "lull" - a short interval of time during which nothing new will spawn. Each lull gets slightly longer as the round progresses, but that's no guarantee the team will actually see the lull - it just prevents new infected from spawning. It doesn't help with infected that are already in the arena. Killing mobs and tanks as quickly as possible is the best way to ensure that a team can take advantage of a lull to heal, resupply ammo, or just move to a better location with more supplies.

Given the extreme pace of Survival Mode, the number of zombies killed in a single round often outnumbers an entire campaign. Even optimizing towards using pistols to eliminate common hordes, ammunition usually becomes an issue at some point. As ammo piles provide a unique infinite resupply for players, they tend to be in relatively less defensible positions in the Survival arenas. This means making an all important ammo run is rarely a safe proposition and requires good teamwork and planning. Timing your resources correctly to be able to make a run when necessary can make or break a team. The perfect pipebomb or well placed molotov can mean the difference between a cakewalk and catastrophe.

The Hospital Elevator, for example, might seem like an easy Crescendo Event to conquer. Hit the elevator button and holdout until the doors open for a quick escape. In Survival Mode, however, the area begins locked down. Areas open as the hordes come in, breaking down the doors to reach the survivors. In each room there are additional caches of vital pills, pipes, and Molotovs. By moving from location to location, using up the plentiful supplies as needed, a team can maximize their time in a game where the elevator never arrives to offer escape. In other maps, items may be less plentiful and require careful planning on their usage. Managing one's inventory and resources works hand-in-hand with teamwork in Survival Mode.

Okay, first things first, I'm officially done with my exam! =)

Next! The most important reason why I'm blogging this entry is to thank some really special people in my life. I know many people don't really know what's been going on with me recently (due to my lack of entries here) but have been the most patient people I know. (Okay, I know i'm starting to blabber..so I'll get straight down to this entry)

Over the recent month, someone I treasured walked right out of my life, just like that. (Won't bore you all with the details really) Whole issue was really messy, and kind of lasted for close to three weeks. That period of time was just tough, but at the same time, I had a few people who stood by me and helped me through it, people i'm really thankful for.

Some of you were people I've known for some time, and although it never came across that I could be so hurt, I'm really thankful for you guys just being there to listen to me, called me when I needed a friend most and even stayed up online with me (despite being tired) just because you knew I was hurting inside.

Some of you were people I've barely spoken to, or even said hi to. But yet, there all of you were, and still are.I'm thankful for that, and am anticipating what lies ahead in the new friendship. I've learned alot through this whole issue. Much as it's been a trying time (due to this issue and my exam) for me, I've lost and I've gained.

To you, I thank you for everything that has happened. Be it the time spent together, apart or even the ups and downs of everything. I'm glad to see that you've grown, and so have I. You've taught me what it's like to love someone, to compromise and to let go. For all that, I appreciate you and everything you've said and done.

To those that I've met and I might lose, please know that i'm really sorry that we didn't have the time to meet or really speak, or that I was just plainly shy then. Looking back, maybe I shouldn't have been all that shy. All of you have left footprints in my life, and I probably might not have the chance of saying all these in person, but I appreciate spending that little time with all of you.

There are so many other people I want to say 'Thank you' to, and let them know how much I appreciate each and every one of them. But I know no words can really express how grateful I am. To those who hung out with me, to those who counselled me, to those who listened, to those who I never opened up to, but yet were still so concerned about me and to those who are/were overseas and still made the point of emailing me, I appreciate each and every one of you.

I know one day I'll smile again. (and yes, it's because of the things that each and every one of you have said/done)
